Power Up Internship Program

Providing a pathway to the nonprofit sector for emerging youth leaders, the Power Up Internship Program supports talented people ages 18-25 with a background or interest in activism with paid part-time internship opportunities with social justice organizations addressing the most critical issues of our time.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF MOVEMENT LEADERS

Launched in Fall 2020 by Building Movement Project and Solidarity Is, Power Up exposes youth leaders to career possibilities in the nonprofit sector, equips them with professional development tools and support to succeed in their internship tasks, and creates space for intergenerational learning between youth leaders and nonprofit leaders.

Four disabled people of color gather around a table during a meeting. A Black woman sitting on a couch gestures and speaks while the three others (a South Asian person sitting in a wheelchair, a Black non-binary person sitting in a chair, and a Black non-binary person standing with a clipboard and cane) face her and listen.
FOR HOST ORGANIZATIONS

Host organizations will assign nonpartisan projects and tasks around research, writing, communication, and civic engagement that are at the level and capacity of a part-time intern.
